Great childhood memories

Great launch ramp. Clean and usually not crowded

Clean restrooms, opens early for anglers, ample parking until it gets warm enough for the boaters and tubers then it gets very busy and often is full on the weekends.

I grew up going to this lake with my family and spending long summer days on it with our canoe. It's a beautiful Lake and a wealth cared for Park.

Great location for day trips with nice facilities and access to Lake Merwin.

That being said I had a very disappointing experience this past weekend when I drove 2 hours up to this park by myself to go for a swim and relax. When I pulled up to the entrance of the park there was a woman speaking on a walkie-talkie to a person that was posted down in the parking lot. The person in the parking lot was letting this woman know exactly what availabilities they had for parking. I heard him say that they had four spots available for anyone with a trailer he also said there were a few different other parking places available as well so I was very disappointed when this woman told me that there was no room for me to go swimming in this park by myself. I was one person in one car. I drove 2 hours to get there only to have a woman very rudely and bluntly tell me that because I did not have a boat trailer I was not going to be permitted to go into that Park to go swimming that day. She thought nothing of telling me that I wouldn't be permitted into the park that day and sent me on my way rather than have me sit and wait for a few minutes to see if somebody else might come out where I can come in she just sent me away and it was really irritating and disappointing. I don't understand how if they have different kinds of parking available why they wouldn't allow me to come in and park in part of one of the other spots or let me know that I'm welcome to wait as people are leaving and a space would probably become available pretty soon. I guess I would suggest to the woman who was working at the entrance of the park on Saturday afternoon to think for a moment what it would be like if you were a single woman who drove all the way up to a lake by herself to go for a swim and how it would feel if you were just turned away with absolutely no consideration. She seemed to enjoy what little power she has. I will definitely think twice before driving all the way up there again after being turned away so rudely.
